in life
you have to be independent. by that i mean not dependent on anything. not even friends. that's the rule of this game.
if you want to win this game, you must be ruthless. harsh enough to let go of everything and realize that the only one who will help you when you fall is you, yourself.
when you are alone in life, that's when you are able to grasp this cold hard fact. it's no longer a brotherhood of man, its you again.
friends are the ones who walk in when others walked out. but we have to come to understand the second part to this is what many tried to ignore.
the ones who walked out were once, the ones who walked in. we tend to be oblivious to this sentence because we had tried, in many ways, to convince ourselves that one day we will be able to find the friend who will:
be there for you when you need them the most
walk by your side through the hard times
understand you without the need for any words
and most importantly, someone who will always have trust in you even if the world has the proofs to say that you are lying.
but sad to say. almost all of the friendships are superficial and frail. time never fails to cause two to drift apart, conflict never fails to break bonds that were once so firm and strong and distance never fails to induce aloofness.
ultimately, the reality is merciless. everyone stands alone in the story eventually. there's no escapism to it and the determinant of your success in life will be how long you take to realize the fact. the shorter the better.
in a world where reality hurts, being emotional wont get you anywhere. being realistic is the only way out and you cant always hide everything with a "haha" or "lol", can you?
