the day had come for me to pop! and that was two days ago. so fast -.-! anyway yeah shall give everyone a breakdown of what exactly happened for the day every recruit looks forward to.
for myself, we had to wake up at 3am to prepare for our 24click graduation route march. lights off at 8pm the day before but we chatted with our section commander till 11pm! we started off the march at 530am and everything went well.
something worth mentioning happened after our first 4 click. a pc from another platoon took over our pc because our pc was posted out. this pc pumped us during the 4 click rest point becaues we did not sing during the march. the whole platoon was so indignant that we sang this song as a platoon loudly after we set off for the second 4 click.
"my pc got posted out of orion, my pc got posted out of orion, my pc got posted out of orion! oh bring back my pc to me! bring back oh bring back oh bring back my pc to me to me, bring back oh bring back oh bring back my pc to me!"
i was very motivated after singing this song because there was platoon bonding, it was literally there. can feel it so strongly!
the rest of the 24 click was fine until the last 2 click! gosh.. that nearly took my life! there was a part where we were marching along the tekong reservoir and we were totally exposed to the sun. after that stretch of road i was swaying from left to right all the way till the end! very terrible. if not for my platoon mates who helped me through i guess i would have fainted! thanks guys, really!
after the 24click we were set into a mad rush. polish boots, have lunch, wash up, change up, pack up and form up for the parade. it was like zoom zoom zoom, no pause in between. but we knew that when all these end, we will be free! and finally the time came for us to march in!
the whole parade was alright, very endurable in fact. perhaps i had distractions in mind which caused me to forget about all the heat and discomfort. before the parade start we did some cooling down to wayang in front of our parents. after that we did march past followed by re-entry.
during the re-entry, parents come down to help their sons put on their jockey caps, after which we did the bmtc roar and finally the tossing of our jockey caps high into the air! anything after that is just photo-taking and home-sweet-home!
okay enough of rantings, here's the pictures which will sum up everything!
at tekong parade square where 4 companies gathered. namely raven, ulysses, orion and whiskey! O is for Orion =) my coy!
when orion goes marching in, i want to be in their number!
all ready. sedia us now!
fast forward the parade~ march past! padang ke kanan! (check,up!)
re-entry! the shiok-est part of the whole parade! all loads off our body!
and here's the reason why parents were invited to come. to help their sons put on their jockey caps! they can move really fast, serious!
dad putting on jockey cap for me. hate it when the jockey cap is out of shape, and that is inevitable when you need to squeeze this poor cap into the side pocket.
EPIC MAN! haha this picture is funny to the max. the effect kinda good!
with my dearest mum! i love this picture =)
with dad and mum! not to forget the sunflower mum bought for me but i can't hold because i was in a formal parade HAHA!
sister, cousin and brother! must be wondering why so many people came for my pop right =X
sister and brother! i am taller than my sis and my brother is taller than me, yes yes. haha!
family portrait. ah, with the bouquet of sunflowers haha!
presenting to you, the 'garang' BMTC roar!
toss it up high (dont bother looking for your own cap) and get a new one quickly! haha, but i got mine back!
sgt charles! i look super minute.. i was nicknamed "the little one" by him haha.
sgt zaidi and sgt azman! sgt azman looking cool in the picture, he doesnt smile man haha!
platoon sgt xianghui. he disappeared for a long time only to appear when we were queuing up to board the ferry!
penguin boat for the last time for BMT!
bed buddies. moses and brian!
ziyang at the back. my buddy brian! million of thanks to you for seeing me through and being there for me through this period of time. cant ask for more =) glad to have met you! like this pic man! though our smiles looked weird and forced but we did not like plan beforehand! cool~
section mates! ziyang, brian and sunny! keep in touch man!
wei jie! i know how to do baby-freeze, he taught us how! =)well the two months had been a fast one. i shall backtrack to enlistment date and compare pictures of then and now. haha. one obvious difference was i looked freaking fair during enlistment. all the sun-tans =X
