honey, honey where are you?

the title of this post speaks it all. yesterday night or rather today's midnight till dawn was spent searching high and low for dear honey who managed to sneak out of the house for her self-initiated "gai gai" (outing) while my dad was engrossed in watering the plants.

i was sleeping soundly when my sister broke into the room and screamed for honey. her screams jolted me back to reality and it took me quite some time to register the fact that honey has made her way out of the house and has gone missing!

was totally lost. joined in the search for poor honey when i was more awake and started the "honey! honey! where are you?". anxious, yes but i tried to kept my volume low but audible. unlike my sister who set into a frantic cry for honey!

some of what she used in her attempt to lure honey out:
1) honey girl girl, honey 'gai gai'
2) honey mum mum
3) honey come out, mummy bring you go gai gai everyday
4) honey if you come out mummy will buy you everything you want to eat

we searched high and low, literally high and low! went up to the top of the neighbouring hdb estates and start to sweep every floor. searched every gap between the cars and also those below the cars. searched the garbage house and walked down the neighbourhood. from time to time, shouting for honey.

hoping for her to appear when she heard her name being called. she disappointed. as time passed, the chances of us finding her got slimmer. dejected, i tried to convince the whole family to give up on the search. further search just proves futile as it was late at night and we have combed all the possible area within our means.

oh honey, you don't know how worried we were. throughout the search, bad thoughts kept surfacing. i wasn't prepared for the worst. i wouldnt want to see a dead honey with a pool of blood right beside her. my heart was racing, so was my mind. i would rather someone take you home and keep you as a pet.

while i gave up looking for honey, sis persisted to search further. after her effort was ineffectual, she googled to reseach on how to create a notice for lost dog. she printed a stack of notices and started pasting it around the neighbourhood. until then, she felt that she did enough and came back home.

honey, mummy/jie jie loves you! kor kor loves you too!

prospect of locating honey took a change when my sister received a call from a kind soul from our neighbourhood! his nephew has brought honey back home as (according to him) honey was seating on the pavement, seemed in doubt whether to cross the road or not!

so sister finally stopped weeping and smiled! good thing to know honey is not dead/lost. even better to know that she is safe!

aww, i guess honey truly means a lot to the family. her attachment to anyone in the family has surpassed that of a pet, a lot more. she is the little baby in the family and no matter how naughty and cheeky she is, she's irreplacable!

reached home today and honey greeted me once again. i felt so relieved. she's so important to me and i understand that she is more than just a pet. i felt so happy to see her once again, never been happier! ♥♥♥

now you can stick out your tongue naughty girl!
look how much she has grown!!
